Sheraton Seattle's Gingerbread Village

For 25 years, Seattle has embraced the Sheraton Seattle’s Annual Gingerbread Village benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. As a tribute to the city, the theme for the Sheraton Seattle Hotel’s 25th Annual Gingerbread Village is 25 Years of Cheer: A Celebration of Seattle. The hotel invites visitors to stroll through Seattle’s cobblestone past and glimpse into its future, reflecting on what makes the city special.

Lumaze: Lost in Lights - A Fairytale Christmas

Laugh, stroll and play under the twinkle of a million lights as you explore light gardens and illuminated structures. Let the playgrounds entertain the kids for hours, while you kick back at the licensed bar and enjoy some seasonal beverages, delicious food, and live music. Lumaze is an indoor Christmas festival that is brand new to Seattle! Under the Glow Gardens umbrella. Lumaze will be at Seattle's Smith Cove Cruise Terminal at Pier 91. Get ready to get lost in lights! It's all the magic and wonder of an outdoor festival, hosted inside our cozy and spacious venues.

Various times and dates through January 4, 2020. $15-20 for tickets, kids 3 and younger are FREE. Purchase tickets for staggered start times to avoid crowds. See website for dates and times, some are already sold out.

Teddy Bear Suite & Child-Sized Gingerbread House

A hotel suite is magically transformed into a teddy bear wonderland for kids and parents to enjoy, by professional designer Kevin Bradford, In the Grand Motor Entrance, the hotel erects a Life-Sized Gingerbread House to delight the imagination.

​Donations appreciated to benefit uncompensated care at Seattle Children’s Hospital and the Seattle Children's Autism Center.

Snowzone at PacSci

Enjoy the holiday season at PacSci’s SNOWZONE. Experience the magic of winter step into an artistic light and sound installation by Lusio Lights. SNOWZONE features falling snow and twinkling lights to create a mystical atmosphere. Snow also means snowball fights! Challenge your friends and family to an epic snowball fight, build a fort, or dance among the lights, snow, and sounds of winter. Winter Wonderland at Redmond Town Center

Santa Train

"Ho, ho, ho!" and "Chug, chug, chug!" This unique holiday tradition has been ongoing in Snoqualmie for 49 years. Beginning November 30, families can take a holiday train excursion aboard Santa Train to visit Santa Claus at the historic Snoqualmie Depot. Music, fresh-baked cookies from coal-fired ovens, hot cocoa and fresh coffee, and a small gift for each child.

The two-hour holiday celebration takes place Nov. 30-Dec. 1, Dec. 7-8, Dec. 14-15, and Dec. 20-21. Friday, December 20 is the Victorian Santa Train. Various times offered, check website for availability. $28.

Burke Museum Daily Winter-Themed Activities

Activities:

-Let it snow! Make a paper snowflakes to take home or decorate the winter scene.

-Use the winter-themed activity sheet to learn about how local animals survive the cold winter months.

-Create an Ice Age holiday card for a loved one.

-Ice Age themed playtable with mammoths, mastodons, sloths, and tigers

-Cozy up at our dramatic play hearth where kids (and adults!) can pretend to create a winter meal using local ingredients.

-Get up close to winter collections and speak with Burke researchers at Collections Open Door programs on weekends

Plus, double up on the fun with extra activities over Thanksgiving weekend and school break! From November 29 – December 1, and December 26 – January 5, additional activities include:

11 AM daily: Arctic Storytime with touchable objects from the Burke’s education collections

2–3 PM daily: Experience the frigid waters of the arctic and see how arctic animals have adapted to handle these extreme conditions with a blubber glove experiment.

Snow Day at Lake Union: Light Display

Experience Snow Day's immersive lighting display in Denny Park, on display through Jan. 20.

Located in Seattle's South Lake Union, Denny Park is between Denny Way & John St, and between Dexter Ave & 9th Ave. The park is open to the public from 4am to 11:30pm daily. It is recommended to come at dusk, and the lights can be seen from anywhere nearby. There is free parking on most streets after 6 p.m. FREE.
