Gear and Equipment

Scouting Outings require functional gear to allow for a safe outing.  

Each Scout needs the following gear for most overnight outdoor experiences:

• Sleeping bag

• Sleeping pad 

• Good hiking boots/shoes

• Water bottle

• Mess kit

• Flashlight

• Warm clothes and rain gear

• Daypack for single day outings

• Backpack for overnighters

If you don't have these, talk to your Scoutmaster or Quartermaster.  We can share advice on what to purchase or see if we have something in our gear locker. 

Other Gear

Other gear will also be needed, depending on the type of outing your Scout will be going on.  Some of this may be provided by the troop.
