Important Forms
After you turn in these forms, you will receive a Troop 49 folder, Class B t-shirt, Troop 49 neckerchief, neckerchief slide, Boy Scout Handbook, and Uniform insignia (“49” and “90 year bar”)
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SUMMER CAMP:
Talk to your parents about attending summer camp.
Read the parent and scout information booklets (usually available by March)
Make arrangements to pay for camp through the camp coordinator and/or treasurer.
Have your doctor complete part C of the BSA Medical form, which requires a physical exam, and return to the Membership coordinator no later than June 1.
New Scout Parents – Parent Checklist
Assist your son in completing the registration forms listed above or in the joining folder you received at the meeting (don’t forget to sign)
Review the exercises in the BSA Handbook pamphlet: How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide.
Give your son a check for the joining fee of $24 (made out to “Troop 49”). If you are joining mid-year, ask if the fee can be pro-rated).
Get your son an official boy Scout Uniform. The components can be purchased new online or from the BSA Council store, or ask the troop if used/donated shirt and pants are available.
